So, I caught a cold when flying home for Orlando on Southwest(nile virus) Airlines. If we get bird flu in this country, it will arrive via this nasty ass airline. It's called lysol, people, use it!
But I digress. My ball of fire two-year old has now gotten a cold. Poor little baby is all stuffed up with a bad cough.
So I send hubby to the convenient local Wal-Mart to purchase the requesite cough, cold and Motrin. He came back with an interesting new product from Triaminic, cough supressent strips.
Of course, the toddler loved it a) because it tasted like cherry candy, and 2) because it has the same qualities as a sucker which is not something he gets very often.
On Saturday he started to complain that his tongue hurt. But Sunday he had an angry red sore on the top of his tongue. So I checked the ingredients on the strips. The first ingredient (which implies the highest concentration) is acetone.
Acetone? Why does that sound familiar? Becuase it's the same ingredient in fingernail polish remover!
We had basically removed the child's tastebuds in three strips! We are the worst parents ever!
Oh God, the mommy guilt just never ends...
