My article about blogs is consuming me. It is such cool stuff and so available to anyone who shows the slightest interest.
Unfortunately it's started showing signs of turning into a PR gimmick, but thankfully the blogging community is so snotty to "fakes" online that they literally eat those PR sites alive.
McDonald's tried this technique during the Superbowl, setting up a fake blog and directing people to it. Apparently the blogging community decried it a fake and spread the word with freakish alacrity which resulted in the termination of the blog by week's end.
Damnit, that's some good blogging.
The most interesting part for me is the inherent sense of community. There is a bond of sorts between people who blog. For example, my friend Lauren has started a blog. I immediately want to link it so it will be read by millions of adoring fans. Why? Because she's intelligent, insightful and a good person. I want to share the blogoshpere with her.
Blogging has also opened up an amazing avenue for collaboration. Through message boards, wikis and comments sections, information is shared and molded at an amazing rate. Is it journalism? Not necessarily. But it's interesting.
My friend and co-worker Mia recently sent me a link to such a collaboration. It's too cool to keep to myself. What a great way to get your writing out there, among others who take it seriously.
If you have a topic that you want to see followed, please post it. And then share. I would like to see how it evolves.

It's jut like you said: It's about community as well as being productive -- the idea is that together we can really get something done.
You can contact me through my blog Digidave.org.
I hope all is well.
Awesome. I've been looking for a place to publish and get comments on a poem I wrote about a man from Nantucket.
Awww ... you're too sweet :) I'm glad you're sharing the "blogosphere" with me
