From the depths of my pit

I have joined the rest of the world to be seriously freaked out by the kid who went beserk at school this week. I (along with everyone on CNN, Fox, and MSNBC) have been trying to imagine what could have caused this guy to finally lose his marbles. I say finally because all indications point to the fact that he never had a full jar to begin with.

But it brings to mind a bigger point that the hubby, my friends and I have discussed on numerous occassions. How can you hate someone so bad that you consider it justified to take their life?

I remember having this discussion with my girl DG about it a few years ago when we talking about the "Laramie Project." I've never understood how you can hate someone for being gay, or black, or female, or fill-in-the-blank here. Why do people invest so much time and energy in hating someone who's lifestyle or skin color has no bearing on their own life?

Personally, I have enough trouble keeping up with my ball of fire, the laundry, school and my part-time job. I don't have the time to invest hating someone else for their own hectic life. But more importantly, I wouldn't want to.

I'm afraid it's time for another hippie movement. All you need is love!

Everybody ....
