Life with the ball of fire is never boring. In fact, he continues to amaze me day after day. Just the other day he personally requested that we listen to the work of Ms. Aretha Franklin while making dinner. And he claims his favorite food is crab rangoon. (Good GOD, I'm doing such a good job with this parenting thing!)
Lately he's been amusing us with his choices in outfits. Since we've been allowing him to pick out his clothes, and dress himself, he has paired some amazing selections.
It's not like he has ugly clothes. In fact, his grandmothers have considerably cute taste in clothes and have outfitted him with every option in either Kohls or Gap Kids. And yet, some how, some way when he picks out a shirt and pants -- it's always amusing.
Yesterday I took him to Target for a few odds and ends. On my list were a few choice undergarments for myself. As I was perusing my selections, the ball of fire suddenly jumped off the end of the card yelling, "Red light!!"
"What, what do you see now?" I asked. He yells "red light" every five seconds so he can look at stuff.
"Oh Mommy," he said. "Look at those undies."
He was gape mouthed, finger pointed at a pair of ladies Hello Kitty panties.
"Yep, those are cute." I replied off-handedly as I glanced for my size in another style.
"Mommy, daddy will just love them!" He ran to the rack and picked up a pair which he flung in the cart. "I will get some in my size so we can match," he said as he tossed another pair into the cart.
Oh yeah, daddy is really going to love that...
