Strike terror in the heart

Last night, the ball of fire's preschool teacher said the most horrible thing any one has EVER said about my child. She said ... he's really good at math, not so great at reading.

As a writer, can you guess the subjects at which I excelled in school? Let's just say the only pi involved was the edible kind.

I am in mourning.

I feel you. My son in first grade just started writing, "stories." It made me so happy.

It could be worse...my oldest has a superior IQ and no ambition to do well in school. He has brought home more F's than I've written in my lifetime. I have found a motivator though...taking away the X Box and the cell phone and...and...and...

I have come to the conclusion when it comes to reading and boys, that they get writers block and only like to read and write about things that interest them personally. If they are forced to write about something different, they choose to not pay attention to it. Reading was my favorite subject too. I think it is imbedding the the Y chromosome or something.
