As someone who has worked since I was 16, it has been a little more difficult to transition from full-time corporate gig to full-time mommy gig. While I feel that I have made the right choice for me and my family, I cannot deny that I haven't sneaked a few resumes to employers.
Not any job would draw me out of mommy-hood, so I've only applied for those few choice positions that I would enjoy: a part-time editor job at Unity village, a PR position at Planned Parenthood or that internal communications gig for AMC Theaters.
Thus far, no response.
Ok, that just reaffirms my choice to leave corporate writing behind.
Then, last night while watering the plants, I had a sudden realization: I have been sending e-mail to prospective employers with a signature line and link to this blog. Oh.Good.God.
No wonder none of them have ever replied, let alone called to discuss a job opportunity. One quick glimpse at the content on my cyber-alter ego and you know that I have issues.
To quote the ball-of-fire two-year old: BAMMIT!
