Going to the chapel

On Sunday, my favorite sister married the photographer -- now brother-in-law -- Alan. Jen picked a beautiful setting at the Missouri Botanical Gardens.

Twenty minutes before the wedding was to begin, it rained like a bastard. But the sun made an appearance just in time for the nuptials.

It's funny to watch your sibling get married. She's been the little sister for so long, some part of me felt like I was losing something to see her enter a new and very adult relationship. I also know what it's like to be married, so I know some of what she can expect -- that movement from Jen and Alan to "the Copelands."

At the same time, I'm so excited for her new adventure. There are so many wonderful things you experience when you move from a "me" to a "we." Just every day life -- coming home from a hard day to someone who cares about you and loves you -- makes it worth it.

I'm also very excited to have another married couple in the family. Now maybe my aunts and grandma will start nagging them to have a kid instead of me!
