Deconstruction

Raise your hand if you also have this problem.

I have to redecorate a room in my house about every two years. It drives the hubby crazy, but I just can't help it. I have painted every room in my house once, if not two or three times in the eight years we've lived here. I just get a new idea -- a new vision, if you will -- for a tired old space.

For example, my latest fixation is the dining room. Our dining room is really useless. At most it seats six comfortable. It's a mis-mash of furniture from other rooms that service to hold china we never use. It should be a really nice library/office, but I can't sell that idea just yet. If we were smart, we'd knock down the wall and create one killer kitchen, but again that idea just won't fly.

So, I repaint. Refabric. Change the furniture.

It's always a good idea for me to have a project anyway, especially when I've been feeling a little down. It rejuvenates me. I have renewed purpose. I have a giant hole where the chair rail used to live. (It was there when the chair rail came down, I swear!) I have spackle.

And nothing compares to that new paint smell.

Couple that with the Foo Fighter's tee shirt which arrived a week early and my freshly laundered lace panties and it's been a good week.

Viva la Home Depot!
