More than four thousand items will appear for your perusal on ebay when you type in "Christmas sweaters," and each one is more ghastly than the last.
There are some fashion trends that died an untimely death for a reason: rolled jeans, mullets and fingerless gloves. Yet those damn sweaters refuse to die!
I also can't help but notice that the most common place you find a Christmas sweater is a menopausal woman with a bad haircut, shopping in Hollister for their teenager. Is this because they have no fashion sense so they cling to the generic ugliness of a holiday trend? I know not.
My mother-in-law bought me one during those first few years after the hubby and I were married. I donated it the next weekend. I think he nicely told her that I was not a sweater person -- unlike some people.

Don't ever let me watch that video again! That is enough to put me away after a stressful day! But I did love those hideous 80's glasses! :)
Oh my god, didn't you laugh your ass off though at her gold spandex pants! I just laugh and laugh ...
Oh Good God! Now you've really got me going...Do you realize that most teachers wear those stupid Christmas sweaters every day before Christmas break?!?! However, I don't ever remember your mom wearing them. I guess she was too cool and up on the fact that they aren't so much. :)
I also agree that the mullet will be back. Everyday I see kids with the long bowl-cut that hangs in their eyes, however, it's called "the skater look".
