Girls night. Have mercy.
My girls and I went out for dinner, drinking and debauchery last night. I was celebrating my returning health and my friend JAC was celebrating the conclusion of a very large presentation for her work. We met two other friends who also had relationship milestones to celebrate and we toasted our success several, several times.
After dinner we hit a local club that is a favorite of mine for good music and a relatively cool mature-adult scene. And by mature, I mean 30s, usually married and there for the music as opposed to finding some willing pants into which they can climb. But last night was special. Last night, we went to see a Journey tribute band called "Stone in Love."
Yes, it was as fabulously cheesy as anything you can imagine. They hit all my favorite songs. I danced until my stomach hurt. I flashed back to ridiculous spring flings and homecoming dances that both tormented and thrilled me with their potential.
It was, in a word: rocking.
I did pay for my debauchery, however. It's been months and months since I had a beer and the two that I downed last night spent an agonizing few hours twisting and tormenting my stomach. My husband laughed. Is it me, or is his lack of sympathy very wrong?
You make me weep, I'm gonna die,
Just when you said we'd try, loving, touching squeezing each other...

I have total sympathy for you girlfriend. We went out with another couple last weekend and I had 2 beers. I was in bed almost the whole day on Sunday trying to get rid of a splitting headache. Hubby just laughed at me too. It's just not fair...
Remember when we'd get WASTED drunk and go to work the next day. What has happened to us!
You would have loved this band. It was so much fun. High School flashback, but of the good parts.
Once again I'm jealous! I would have LOVED to see that band!
And have a night out with the girls with some drinking involved ;)
I guess I'll have to wait until this fall for any drinking ;)
Bahl, you would have LOVED it. It was croweded and loud and we were right up next to the stage. Amazing.
Why no drinking until this fall?....
